The Truth about 9/11. Conspiracy Theorists are Idiots.

February 18, 2008

911conspiracytheroybushosama.jpgIn early July of 1989, while traveling in Europe, I looked up from my warm pint of lager to see the first video images of Colonel William Higgins’ lifeless body on the news. About a year earlier, he had been captured in Lebanon by Hezbollah terrorists.

I had graduated high school just a few weeks earlier and headed off to Europe with a buddy and two backpacks; seeing this video shocked me and was not part of our vacation plan. That feeling was reinforced the next day as we walked up onto the street from the Tube to see smoke coming from our hotel. An Arab National, traveling on a French passport, was fiddling with a bomb in his room when he accidentally detonated it. These two events motivated me to study terrorism long before Al Qaeda, jihad, and dirty bomb became household words.

Terrorism has been around in one way, shape, or form for as long as people have. It’s a very real, very ugly reality. That’s why I get so heated whenever I see people calling themselves the 9/11 “truth” movement deny these facts and instead feed their own fantasies with garbage about government cover-ups and other completely illogical explanations for events. Most politicians, regardless of party affiliation, can’t make any sort of public appearances these days without at least a few of these morons showing up.

Ok, they are not all morons and that is where the problem lies. There are otherwise educated and reasonable people who buy into these theories. Why? I’m glad you asked.

The following, well written and researched article, by Phil Mole for the Skeptic Society explains how otherwise educated and likable people can be sucked into the “truth” movement. This should be required reading for anyone that smells a conspiracy.

If you don’t want to do the reading, below is a more entertaining rebuttal from fellow Skeptics Penn and Teller. WARNING: There is some strong language in this video and may offend some (as Penn and Teller often do).

After reading that article and/or watching the video, you can rest well at night knowing that what you suspected before is still true – conspiracy theorists are idiots.

How can people believe that 9/11 was plan by the government?
That´s crazy. Sometimes it amaze me what people believe, it´s like saying that the holocaust didn´t happen. It doesn´t matter how bad is the government but to believe that someone would do something like this to its own people, its hard to believe. People at least try to care for their owns, for their kind.

Don’t mean to be disrespectful but those theories are not even worth mentioning or considering. They are senseless. Nevertheless I believe the US government has become a Conspiracy Theorist as well when it comes for excuses to justify a war and its erratic foreign policy

I truly enjoy arguing about 9/11 with conspiracy theorists. It feels similar to playing chess with a 4 year old, there’s no way they’ll win unless you let them. A standard argument usually goes like this:
Conspiracy Theorist: Well, then, why were all bomb sniffing dogs removed from the twin towers the day before 9/11?
    -That’s not even true.
The US government planned a controlled demolition of the WTC! They set it up days in advance!
-No demolition company has EVER taken up a job as big as demolishing the WTC. It would take YEARS of banging on the concrete walls inside, exposing the metal beams, removing drywall, setting up explosives, etc…

Funner yet, just ask a conspiracy theorist why the government needed such an intricate plan (using commercial jets, bombs, etc.) when they could have just blown it up with conventional explosives and pointed the finger at radicals, it sure would be easier….
At this point most of them either concede defeat or hatch some harebrained scheme that even Michael Moore would laugh at.
If you’re bored one day, just sign into some conspiracy forums and let the battle begin. It’s quite fun actually.

Humph, you’ve changed my mind! Your arguments are convincing indeed. Despite I’m not a person who is easy to be convinced.

Penn and Teller are wrong. I am not sure and a lot of people aren’t sure about the exact reason or events of 9/11, but I do know that the evidence is stacked against the theory that the US government has proposed. If, without a shadow of a doubt that one major piece of evidence is show to have been done by the government then that would allow for the possibility that the whole tragedy was done by the government. I would like the government to show me how a 47-story heavily reinforced skyscraper fell at free fall speeds some 6-7 hours after the twin towers fell? How did WTC7 come down? Especially when WTC5 and 6 were still partially standing after the twin towers came down and they were directly under the twin towers. I have heard people say that they decided the demolish it that day since it was going to have to come down anyways. If that is the case, it take weeks of planning and several days of planting explosives to bring a building of that size down. So, if they demo’d it, then they knew at least 2 days ahead of time that they were going to have to do it. Other people have said fires in the building caused it. There were a few small very controllable fires in WTC7. If you’ve ever seen the raging flaming torrent that occured in the high rise in Madrid Spain that burned for almost a complete day and that whole building stood up. WTC7 wasn’t brought down by fire. The last excuse I have heard for WTC7 is that a gas/propane tank of some kind was in the basement and blew up taking the building down. First, a blast of that size would have been felt and heard easily miles away and picked up by seismometers. Second, if the massive truck bomb in the 90’s below one of the WTC towers was enough to blow out 6 stories of the basement/garage and wasn’t enough to take down the tower then how can a blast that wasn’t heard or felt from a gas tank bring down a reinforced building? There aren’t any other theories out there that have tried to explain WTC7. The only one that makes sense and all evidence shows it is true is that WTC7 was demo’d and if WTC7 was demo’d then the story the government and Penn and Teller is telling us cannot be true. Some thing else happened on 9/11. I don’t know what, but we aren’t even close to the truth, yet!

The truth about WTC-7 is a very good question and I’d like to know the answer to that also. I’d also like to know why all the security camera footage around the pentagon was confiscated, and the FBI will not release them.

Americans, whether or not there was a government Plot to destroy the WTC, attack the Pentagon, and never provide an explanation for an aircraft crashing in a field in Pennsylvania without any signs of bodies or wreckage will not be explained in our lifetimes.

This is not the whole point or questions that we as Americans should consistently be asking ourselves! Can we always trust our Government? Should we always trust our government? If we do completely and un-equivocally then are we not falling into the same trap that those poor souls back in the 1930’s did as they trusted Adolph Hitler!

We should never stop doubting what we hear, don’t always take things at face value just because Biil O’reilly told you so, you as Americans must trust your own eyes, self-doubts, and personal opinions or you are not American..

To fall into the Media trap, and believe one news paper, television source or Human Being running for or Holding a position of power is equal to going back under the reign of King George. The very same reason why People got there asses onto a boat, sailed into the unknown, and landed on another continent.

This is why America is what it is! We have to keep the powers that be in check, if we don’t more and more of our freedoms will be lost forever or at least until we fight another revolution.

On that point I would like to make it clear to you that the possibilities for you as Americans to actually stand up, and fight your government is next to Impossible. Imagine trying to use Handguns, Pre-Ban semi automatics, and the other assorted personal weapons that you might have at home or know someone who does, against what our Military has in the Inventory. Impossible!!

9/11 Conspiracy? JFK Assassination? WW-1? Korea? Vietnam? Weapons of Mass Destruction? United Nations? NAFTA? North American Union? RFDI Chips? A NEW WORLD ORDER ? The list goes on and on, you decide; what is happening to America? I have my own opinion but that I will keep that to myself.

You call that “keeping your opinion to yourself?”

And, by the way, King George was not the reason the pilgrims sailed to Plymouth Rock. He didn’t come into the picture until about 100 years after they already arrived.

    Keep drinking that Kool-Aid, Buddy.

    Yea RHM,
That’s keeping my opinion to myself!! To go into all the possibilities each and everyone of the mentioned (oh yea good job with the cut and paste) events were cussed and discussed it would take huge amounts of time, and space. Not to mention the fact that no one would of either side on these issues could convince right or wrong about the politics/facts and motivations behind them.

I have no Idea whether there was a 9/11 conspiracy though there is Evidence that it is a possibility. I would hope and pray that our Government would not/could not do such a thing to it’s people. My only point to that long winded act of written venting was for us not to believe everything that our government tells us, and not just lay down and take there word at face value!

We have a Constitution for a reason, and we must defend it, because god knows there are countries and people that would love to erode it as much as possible. Event to the point of eliminating it!

But then in the Army, as an EX or Former Officer you should know that.

King George a Hundred years later; Hmmm Maybe we left too early I’m sure things got better, we should have stuck around because I’m sure he was a much better leader than King James!

And By the way you called it Kool aid, I called it Bug Juice!
