Poll Results: Does the US Need Foreign Election Observers?

August 11, 2008

A few weeks ago Randall asked, “Does the US need foreign election observers?” Based on the responses we received, it seems that Randall struck a nerve with his question. Currently, there are 19 comments on the post (and counting.) Read more

It’s the BIG ONE!!

July 10, 2008

red fox from sanford and sons faking a heart attackSome days it is just too damn hot to write; today is one of those days (I’m surprised Randall doesn’t use this as an excuse more often given that he lives in the DR and I live in Maine.) Anyway, as I was surfing around today I came across the following news bulletin from the Associated Press. Read more

Conspiracy Theorists Rejoice!!!!

July 9, 2008

plane-crash-cartoonBy now I’m sure you’ve heard of the unscheduled stop taken by Senator Obama’s plane on a recent campaign flight. The unplanned detour into St. Louis was uneventful and thankfully no one was hurt. Reportedly, an emergency slide inflated mid-flight in the tail cone. The area in which the slide inflated was packed full of hydraulic lines and control lines whose operation could potentially be impacted by a large, unexpected object (the inflatable slide) suddenly filling the otherwise empty space. There is no such Thing as Separation of Church and State

July 8, 2008

religious_license_plateSome of you may remember Randall’s post on the Separation of Church and State from a few months back. While surfing around today I came across the following press release titled:

South Carolina plans license plate for Christians

Protecting the President of the United States

July 7, 2008

Presidential MotorcadeI was going through the site today and looking over old posts. Randall and I published this post back in late January of this year. At that time, we had just launched TheCandidacy.com and only had a few friends and family as readers. Since then, our site has grown considerably (mostly due to Randall’s witty political commentary) and we wanted to make sure that a few of our older more favorite posts were seen by our new readers. This particular post was inspired by the video below passed along by my father with the idea we might be able to have some fun with it… Read more

Why is the Price of Gas so High?

July 3, 2008

high-gas-pricesWhat’s the most you have ever spent in one day for Gas? $50? $75? $100? Before today I could have safely said my one day max was eighty bucks after filling up my wifes nearly empty SUV. Today was an eye opener! A “perfect storm” of gas needs for mechanized vehicles. I filled two cars, one boat, one personal watercraft and two five gallon gas cans for misc. yard equipment. The grand total? Wait for it… Read more

Congratulations to Randall and Maggy Miller

July 1, 2008

randall-and-maggy-millerIn last week’s post on the Declaration of Independence I alluded to the fact that Randall had some personal matters that were taking precedent over writing fresh posts. What I didn’t explain was what specifically these “items” were. Well, if you can’t tell from the title of today’s post, Randall was hard at work putting the finishing touches on his wedding. The Declaration of Independence

June 23, 2008

declarationofindependence2.jpg As some of you have noticed and pointed out Randall and I have been recycling some older posts. We’ve been doing this for two reasons: 1. We have a lot of great posts in our archives that were written and published months ago (before our blog became popular) and many of them have simply not been viewed by our newer readers. 2. Randy will explain more in an upcoming post, but suffice it to say, there are some big personal events on the horizon that have taken up a lot of our time. With that said, this should be the last of the old posts. Starting tomorrow we’ll be back to fresh content from Randall, Dick Miller, Chiri and myself. Happy Reading. Read more

3 Most Popular Pope Posts

May 7, 2008

buddy-jesusHello everyone, it’s the “Chief of Staff” here. Pardon the interruption, but lately it seems that Randall has struck a nerve with his posts regarding Pope Benedict. I guess it should come as no big surprise given how uptight most of us Catholics are (recovering and/or lapsed Catholic for me). Of everything we publish here at The Candidacy the following three posts seem to get the most attention and comments: Read more

The Blogger’s Choice Awards = Our Opportunity for Shameless Self Promotion

March 11, 2008

shameless-self-promotionThe World Wide Web is vast; some even say its size is infinite. So, in an infinite universe, how does one stand out? It’s difficult to do in the best of circumstance and even harder for a new blog like TheCandidacy.com. Let’s face it, Randall and I both like to write (God knows we have lots to say), but we would like others (beyond friends and family) to read our thoughts and comments. Read more
