Just in case you don’t recognize the charming man in this photo, it’s Pope Benedict XVI (formerly Cardinal Ratzinger) the head of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. When he’s not busy sending thousands of Catholic operatives to Africa to teach against condom use (even between married couples where only one partner is infected with HIV) or condemning anybody whose not Catholic to eternal hellfire, he can be found inciting Muslims with his arrogance and bad judgement.

Separation of Church and State

As I’ve mentioned before, mixing religion and politics is not a good idea. Some things are better kept apart, like hunting and drinking. Mix the two and you’re asking for trouble. Thankfully, the U.S. has a built-in separation of church and state that keeps bad things from happening. Interestingly, the words “separation of church and state” do not appear anywhere in the U.S. Constitution. Read more
