Why I am not a Democrat
June 18, 2008
I’ve been a registered voter for almost 20 years. When I registered to vote for the first time I was a senior in high school and registered as a Democrat because, well, in Massachusetts everybody seemed to be a Democrat. That’s not to imply that I was forced or coerced into doing so, but there was a certain wink and nudge from my high school teachers and the people from town hall who came to the school to register all of us turning 18 for the first time. So, it was with relatively little thought that I checked the box and joined the party of our then governor Michael Dukakis. Little did I know my time as a registered Democrat wouldn’t last very long. The Many H’s of Hillary
Does ANYONE actually think that Hillary (the) Clinton(s) will go away on her/their own? And what would the Mainstream Media DO if they did? Obama and McCain don’t have enough baggage to keep the media entertained. Rev. Wright, McCain’s age, and any future scandal from either one can’t hold a candle to REAL baggage.
Well…there is a way – and you have had it in your power all along. Read more
Three Ways Barrack Obama Could Improve his Popularity with the Military
June 5, 2008
In January of 1993, I was in my final months of college and Army R.O.T.C at Norwich University. I already had my assignment in hand and would be shipping off to South Korea after training at the U.S. Army Field Artillery Training Center at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Life was good and those times were exciting. However, I’d be lying if I didn’t mention the overwhelmingly negative response to Bill Clinton’s inauguration that same month. After 12 years of pro-military Republican presidents Reagan and Bush (#41), it was unconscionable that an admitted draft-dodger who “loathed” the military would be the commander in chief - on day one of our careers (I actually know a full colonel who wanted to retire in the late 90’s but stayed on for a few extra years just so his retirement certificate wouldn’t have Clinton’s name on it). Politicians are Elitists
April 22, 2008
“You’re out of touch, I’m out of time.” - Haul and Oates.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton recently showed Pennsylvania voters just how “down” they are with regular folks by bowling, praising Jesus and, of course, drinking with rednecks. In addition, Hillary went out of her way to pump up her pro-gun rights positions and condemn Obama’s super-liberal anti-gun stances. When asked by a reporter when was the last time she’d fired a gun or went to church, Hillary said it was not relevant. Not relevant? She’s parading around the state labeling Obama an elitist when her own tax returns dwarf those of Bush and Cheney combined? Newsflash: Almost all of our politicians are elitists! Don’t believe me? Just ask any Senator and most U.S. Representatives the following questions: Read more
Elton John Speaks out for Hillary Clinton
April 14, 2008
Please add Elton John to the list of celebrity idiots. If he’s not there already, he certainly earned his place this week after making some moronic comments during a $2.5 million fundraiser for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
“I’m amazed by the misogynistic attitudes of some of the people in this country. And I say to hell with them …. I love you Hillary, I’ll be there for you.”
He then broke into an acoustic version of “The bitch is back”. Ok, maybe not. Read more
Governor Bill Richardson Endorses Barack Obama
March 26, 2008
Barack Obama received another important endorsement last week from Governor Bill Richardson. Although most Obama supporters would have preferred it a bit earlier in the race, it is still very significant. Regardless of the fact that he leads Clinton in pledged delegates, number of states, and the popular vote, Obama still needs the super-delegates to win the nomination. Richardson, in addition to his influence over Latino voters, holds considerable sway within those ranks. Read more
Massachusetts’ Politicians are Impotent
February 19, 2008
Is anyone else confused by the apparent lack of influence wielded by Massachusetts’ most important politicians? John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Governor Deval Patrick all enthusiastically endorsed and campaigned for Obama in Massachusetts prior to Super-Tuesday. Shouldn’t that have easily delivered the state for him? Instead, and in spite of the Governor and both Democrat Senators endorsing her rival, Hillary won. This should trouble Massachusetts voters. Poll Results for “Super Delegates, What are They?”
February 18, 2008
In Randall’s post last week on Super Delegates he explained that for the first time Super Delegates may be in a position to overturn the votes of the electorate and personally (as a group) choose the next Democratic Presidential Candidate.
Because the topic of Super Delegates is so contentious and confusing (remember how confused President Bush looked?) we searched for a video that explains things as clearly as possible. Over 500 of you watched the video and more than 120 of you participated in the poll asking if it helped to clarify a confusing topic. Read more
If you Can’t Say Something Nice… (Part II)
February 13, 2008

In response to my recent post about Kool-Aid drinkers, the Chief of Staff had tasked me with saying something nice (or what’s good) about all of the candidates. It hasn’t been easy. Yesterday I took a stab (no pun intended) at the Republicans. Today we’ll finish things off with the other side. Read more
Kennedy Comes Through
January 30, 2008

Yesterday’s endorsement of Barack Obama by Senator Kennedy marks a milestone for the senior senator - he usually does not endorse candidates this early in the race and he never compares them to his famous brother, John F. Kennedy. This makes me happy. In my opinion, this is Kennedy coming through when it matters. His recent heated conversations with Bill Clinton aside, he is smart enough to know what the last four years of his term (and perhaps his career) would be like if the Clintons were once again given the keys to the White House. I imagine spending the twilight of his career dealing with them did not look very appetizing. Read more
